Different Types Of Lore

There are so many different kinds of folklore that exist all around the world, that it is often easy for one culture to ignore its own superiority complex, and become engrossed in studying the folklore of another culture. Looking within one’s own culture for entertainment can be just as much fun. It’s also easier to say to one’s self, how silly certain beliefs of another culture’s folk traditions are, but America, and several other technologically advanced societies also have their own urban legends, and phenomena to look at. Such as French hostility stereotyping, the rate of Japanese suicides, America’s notoriously gore fascinated younger generations –known also for being the most ignorant youth generations, and the supposed comatose demeanour of most Canadians. Every major country has its own cross to bear, and it’s not often the glamorised display that its made out to be.

Each major crisis, and stereotypical labels affects the inhabitants of the afflicted country; just as centuries ago, someone took it in their heads that everyone who wasn’t Christian was a savage (actually, that’s still in many a Christian’s head). Thousands of years ago, it was believed that the Hebrews were nothing more than a wandering band of thieves, criminals, and social outcasts, –Jews have been hated and feared for centuries, and the racial folklore of numerous nations have contributed to that. There are good and bad aspects of folklore, and lore in any culture, –don’t be fooled, it’s not an aspect of humanity that is harmless or purely benevolent.
